Last night around 8:30PM our entire house lost power. In most cases, this wouldn’t be so bad, but we have high energy needs here at the Buffington complex. There’s all of the computers, the aquarium pumps and lighting, and then there’s Tivo.

Tivo was happily recording the latest episode of Survivor (which we take seriously in these parts) when the loss of powered occurred. Within seconds though, all power was restored, and my first thought was “Dang! I’ve lost the first half of Survivor. I better at least go set TiVo up to record the rest of it.”

When TiVo finished booting, I noticed that it immediately began recording the rest of Survivor, but that it had also saved everything up until the power outage. Fantastic!
