Build public skateparks for beginners, invite parents, safety experts, lawyers, and a few skater kids from the hood, to help design the “obstacles” and you end up with a pile of expensive concrete that the very kids you were trying to attract end up getting bored of, roaming the streets looking for bigger challenges. (Yes, I do have an axe to grind – parks designed by unexeperienced commitees and play ground companies are death traps, and while I know it, most kids learn it the hard way).
Build public skateparks for equal or less money designed by experts who have been designing skateparks and skateboarding for nearly a century combined, and you end up with supernatural feats of insanity.
