Yesterday was the hottest day in UK history. And there’s a lot of history to compare against. King Henry VIII wasn’t even lucky enough to feel 37° Celcius in his day.
I don’t exactly feel lucky, I feel sweaty. England hasn’t yet invented air conditioning. Why would they, with cold and damp weather? They did think to make windows that open, but they forgot to make screens to keep the bugs out. So it’s either bugs or bake quicker.
Today is also supposed to be the hottest day in UK history, beating the long standing record set on August 6, 2003 of 37°.
Tomorrow is also supposed to be the hottest day in UK history, followed by the two hottest days in UK history.
