I Was in the Elevator

Thursday, October 19 2000

I was in the elevator this morning, and a lady (probably in her late 30’s) suddenly exclaimed “I WANT TO WIN THE LOTTO!”. I mean, she really just yelled it out, with her head tilted upwards. A full on gutteral exclamation. And then she set upon me saying “You’re too YOUNG to play the lotto! How sad!”. First of all, I’m certainly not too young, and second of all, I could care less about the lotto. Being a bit tired, I simply agreed. No way was I going to argue with the lotto lady.
